I would say that overall this was a quite interesting project. I personally have never done a project quite like this one, requiring me to make three different genres from one main idea and then spread them across three different platforms like print, digital, and network. I’ll start by giving an explanation of rhetorical and design choices for each genre of this project. For my first genre, print, I probably had the hardest time coming up with an idea for what to make. My topic being focused on the issues with non-organic foods I was struggling to think of how I could uniquely make something in the print genre that wasn’t just an informative pamphlet type thing. After a lot of thought it hit me that I would make an all organic/informative dinner recipe. This would perfectly fit all the criteria and be relevant to the topic of the project because it deals with foods. This simple/ sophisticated approach to making the genre I think works perfectly. I would say that the audience for this genre would be for people who want to make delicious foods but also be health in terms of both low-calorie and from the dangers of pesticides used for preserving produce. For my second genre, something that could be digitally circulated. This genre originally confused me and I was quite unsure what to do for it, but I came up with the idea to do some sort of informative advertisement for organic foods. I came up with the design for it by thinking about what would be something that I would see on Facebook shared around a bunch. With this mental picture in my head I knew that it had to be something clever yet persuasive that is where the nutrition label works perfectly in my opinion. I would say that the audience for this genre would definitely be for the people who are uneducated in this topic and would now be learning about it from their Facebook or twitter friend. This could potentially save someone’s health because they could be unknowingly ingesting toxins from non-organic produce. For my third and final genre I made an Instagram account. This genre was definitely the easiest one for me to come up with. When I saw that genre three was network/social media I instantly Knew I would use Instagram because It is my favorite form of social media. It has the right amount of balance between words and images. This played perfectly with my Instagram account because I wanted to use it to basically show case an organic farm so people can see what an all natural farm looks like and how produce should actually look. I put a parody twist to this page because I used all Farmville images instead of real picture of organic farms. I think this will add some interest to the page over just using boring pictures of a farm.
